ITA Airways is ramping up its offer in the United Kingdom with the start of its non-stop flights between Rome-Fiumicino and London City. The route is operated by its Airbus A220-100 aircraft with 12 flights a week,
Passengers will benefit from flying to and from the nearest airports in Rome and London. In addition, travelers can connect from ITA Airways’ main hub, including destinations in the Mediterranean (Italy, Spain, and Greece) and those in South America, including Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo-Guarulhos, and Buenos Aires.
The new service complements the four daily flights between Milan Linate and London City. The airline will schedule an additional service, bringing the route to 31 weekly flights, all operated on Airbus A220-300s.
«We are proud to launch this new direct service between Rome Fiumicino and London City, which is a reference airport for business traffic but also very interesting for leisure flows. The UK confirms itself as an increasingly strategic market for ITA Airways, offering travelers 100 weekly flights between the UK and Italy in the current summer season,» said Emiliana Limosani, commercial director of ITA Airways and chief executive officer of Volare,
As part of its strategy in the UK market, from June 1 it will start a non-stop service between Rome-Fiumicino and London-Gatwick with 7 flights a week. This will bring the number of weekly flights between the UK and Italy to 100.
ITA Airways’ Airbus A220-100 is configured with 125 seats featuring Safran leather reclining seats, USB power outlets and a Wi-Fi connectivity system.
