Avianca Ecuador is looking to adapt to the new trend of the Avianca group and received the first Airbus A320 with the company’s new «low-cost» interior. These seats are those corresponding to the Plus and Economy classes, pending the installation of the Premium class. By February of next year, the airline expects to have the complete seating plan in three of its aircraft based in Ecuador.
According to Avianca, the redesigned cabin offers 20 percent more seats, cutting costs and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 13 percent per passenger.
«We are on schedule with our plan to sustain product differentiation according to the preferred seating size of our customers while flying. We aim to offer more seats per aircraft, which are all new, and to consolidate our competitive pricing offer in the short term. Ecuador is the second country where we already have reconfigured aircraft and where we already offer more seats for everyone»,4 said David Aleman, Avianca’s CEO for Central and South America.

The scheme is provided by seat manufacturer Recaro and Airbus, with the new SpaceFlex cabin, which refurbishes the galley and the rear of the aircraft.
