As the progress of the vaccination provides greater certainty about the evolution of the pandemic, the companies are gaining confidence to schedule operations in the long term. With the summer season in mind, and forecasting a recovery in 2022, Aerolíneas Argentinas launched in Posadas its route and destination planning schedule for the province of Misiones, which includes significant news in terms of connectivity and flight increase.
As of February, the capital of the province will have a double daily flight to and from Buenos Aires, instead of the current 9 weekly operations. In turn, from April onwards, there will be 18 weekly flights from that city.
Besides, starting in April, it will operate three weekly flights to and from Córdoba, which will increase to 4 in May. Thus, Posadas will see its connectivity enhanced through the «Córdoba Hub» without having to go through Buenos Aires and connecting the capital of the province with destinations such as Bariloche, San Martin de los Andes, Bahía Blanca, Rio Grande, San Rafael, Santiago del Estero, and Resistencia, among others.
During the first quarter of the year, Iguazú will have 23 weekly flights to and from Buenos Aires. Between April and June, there will be 42 weekly flights.
Additionally, as of January, there will be 4 weekly flights to and from Córdoba, and 2 operations will connect it with Rosario, 2 with Tucumán, and 3 with Salta, as part of the Northern Federal Corridor that links Mendoza – Salta – Puerto Iguazú.
The new schedule also includes the creation of three new tourist corridors that will link the city of Puerto Iguazú via Aeroparque with Bariloche, El Calafate, and Ushuaia with minimum connection times of between 1 and 2 hours.
The Governor of the Province, Oscar Herrera Ahuad, the Minister of Tourism and Sports Matias Lammens and the President of Aerolíneas Argentinas, Pablo Ceriani, attended the presentation in Posadas.
«It is a good offer for both the corporate and tourist segment with wide-ranging connectivity and it is going to be highly attractive for the Argentine and foreign traveler. This is possible because we have the support of the national and provincial authorities and, essentially, growing demand from the public that chooses and travels around Argentina», said Ceriani.
Lastly, it is worth mentioning that the domestic schedule of Aerolíneas Argentinas for this summer, in terms of the number of seats offered, represents 90% of the pre-pandemic levels.
