sarpa inicia vuelos en Colombia

On January 2, Sarpa Airlines, who recently started commercial operations in Colombia, launched its international operations to Aruba, setting a milestone that projects the company, with more than 40 years of experience in charter and air ambulance services, in the segment of tourist destinations.

The flights to the island took off from Barranquilla and Medellin and will have two weekly frequencies. They will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays. In this way, the company expects to offer more international connectivity alternatives without transiting through Bogota.

As Carlos Andres Mesa, Sarpa’s President, commented at the time, «This experience over the years has helped us to provide the country with more connectivity possibilities with a simple direct model in jet airplanes, serving routes that are not served or have poor access passing through very congested hubs».

The airline expects to mobilize some 150 thousand passengers in 2022 and achieve a reduction of between 20 % and 30 % in ticket costs gradually, at the moment prices are around US$ 125 for international routes and US$ 45 for domestic routes.
