On February 11, the Belizean company inaugurated its flights to El Salvador, as part of the inauguration of the expansion of the new terminal of the Salvadoran airport.
As announced, the Belizean company will connect the International Airport of El Salvador «San Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez» and the Philip Goldson International Airport in Belize. They are initially scheduled to fly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with a flight time of approximately one hour.
The service will be operated in the twin-engine Beechcraft 1900D, a 19-seat turboprop designed primarily for regional routes such as this one.

«San Salvador is considered a second home to many in Belize, with historical and economic ties, so our expansion into this market is natural. We are excited to add the destination to our Tropic family,» commented John E Greif III, President of Tropic Air.
«Receiving a new airline in our country represents the confidence of foreign investors in the government of President Nayib Bukele. That is why we at CEPA are working hard to enhance the development opportunities of our airport,» said Federico Anliker, president of the Autonomous Port Executive Commission (Cepa).
The link has the potential to have a daily service, adding that it opens another gateway for South American tourists seeking to reach Belize, alluding to Avianca’s base in El Salvador, which provides connections to Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, according to the company.
Tropic Air currently operates flights from Belize (BZE) to Guatemala City (GUA) and Flores (FRS) in Guatemala; Cancun (CUN) in Mexico and Roatán (RTB) in Honduras. This network connects destinations that are considered tourist hubs in the region, in order to provide tourists with longer stays and more choice in the area.
The airline’s fleet consists of one Beechcraft 1900D, fourteen Cessna Caravan 208B, and two Cessna 182T.
