During a live broadcast on Viva’s Instagram account, the ultra low-cost carrier’s CEO, Felix Antelo, announced a new stage of expansion «to the south» that includes, in a first stage, the route between Medellin (MDE) and Sao Paulo (GRU).
The inaugural operation to Sao Paulo will take place on June the 22nd.

«Viva does not stop and proof of this are the new routes that are part of our international expansion plan. The opening of this new destination is very important for several reasons: it strengthens our Medellin Hub as a global hub,» explained Felix Antelo, CEO of Grupo Viva.
The new flight will allow connections through the Medellin Hub to Cancún, Miami, Punta Cana and Mexico City, as well as Santa Marta, Cali and Cartagena in Colombia, with a connection time of 50 minutes.
