Aerolíneas Argentinas provided a preview of its Management Report for the year 2022, in which they report that in that period it received only 65% of the ARS 72 billion allocated by the national government, which means an effective use of ARS 47 billion or USD 353 million.
The company highlighted that, in this way, the level of state contributions was reduced by 50% compared to 2021, when it received USD 644 million.
«These results reflect the effort we have been making to continue reducing the contributions from the State and to cover expenses with our own revenues. It is great news because we were able to do so in a complex macroeconomic context», said Pablo Ceriani, president of Aerolíneas Argentinas, in a press release.
For 2023 the projected transfers from the national treasury are estimated at USD 412 million, 102 million less than in 2022. In Argentine pesos this will be equivalent to 90 billion, 26% above the 2022 values. The contributions to Aerolíneas Argentinas will represent 0.31% of the national budget when in 2019 the proportion was 0.48%, pointed out from the company.
On the other hand, in 2022 Aerolíneas Argentinas sold tickets for a value of USD 1,864 million and 11.67 million passengers were transported, almost three times more than the 4.43 million in 2021 when some restrictions to the movement of people were still in force.
In 2023, as we had reported in a previous article, Aerolíneas Argentinas expects to break its historical mark of 13 million passengers carried.
