Saudia and Kuwait Airways sign codeshare agreement

Saudia and Kuwait Airways signed a codeshare agreement that will improve connections and convenience for passengers of both airlines. The signing ceremony took place at Saudia’s headquarters in Jeddah.

Saudia CEO Ibrahim Koshy said, “We are delighted to partner with Kuwait Airways and give their customers the opportunity to experience our services. We look forward to further strengthening our relationship with this important partner and offering a great proposition to our customers.”

Eng Maen Razouqi, CEO of Kuwait Airways, added, “We welcome Saudia as our strategic partner. The commencement of this codeshare partnership will help strengthen Kuwait Airways’ and Saudia’s operations between the two countries and enable more travel options and facilities for the public. It will also enhance the experience for their travel, both business and leisure.”

“Both Kuwait Airways and Saudia are also working on incorporating the frequent flyer program for our codeshare flights so that guests can be rewarded with their benefits. In addition, both airlines plan to explore other avenues for future mutual cooperation and expansion of their partnership.”

Under this codeshare cooperation, both airlines will display each other’s marketing codes on their flights operating between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, and on other alliance routes. The agreement will be implemented after approval by the authorities. It will not only strengthen the commercial relationship but also promote a strategic bilateral partnership that will benefit both airlines. Currently, Saudia operates four daily flights between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Meanwhile, Kuwait Airways operates six daily flights on the same route.
