Last weekend Norse Atlantic UK launched two new routes from London – Gatwick to the west coast of the United States. With these new services, the low-cost airline now has six routes between the U.S. and the U.K. and offering customers affordable transatlantic flights.
Norse Atlantic launches flights between Rome and New York
«Los Angeles and San Francisco have become the fifth and sixth destinations to the U.S. from our London base. With the addition of these two destinations, Norse Atlantic becomes the largest operator of long-haul flights to the U.S. from London Gatwick«, said Bjørn Tore Larsen, CEO of Norse Atlantic Airways.
More than 400 new local jobs have been created due to Norse Atlantic UK’s expansion at London – Gatwick. The low-cost airline launched its UK transatlantic operations in August last year with daily service to New York JFK and recently added routes to Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Washington – Dulles.
Expansion in the U.S. continues with the start of flights to Los Angeles and San Francisco, making it the only low cost carrier to operate between the U.K. and the U.S. West Coast. In addition, the airline is scheduled to start flying to Boston from September 2, 2023.
London is Norse Atlantic’s main base where it has employed 250 cabin crew and 108 pilots on local contracts, as well as 25 other support staff. The six-aircraft base at Gatwick will also require an additional 45 ground workers, hired through Red Handling.
Los Angeles
On June 30, Norse commenced flight Z0 711 operated on a Boeing 787 registered G-CKWN and christened «Jotunheimen.» The aircraft took off from Gatwick Airport (LGW) at 11:58 local time and landed at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at 14:36, after 10 hours and 39 minutes.

San Francisco
On July 1, Norse launched flight Z0 731 on a Boeing 787 registered G-CKOF and christened «Redwood». The aircraft departed Gatwick Airport (LGW) at 10:43 local time and arrived at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) at 13:32, after 10 hours and 49 minutes.

Promotional fares are available from 460 euros round trip including taxes and charges. Norse Atlantic is the fourth airline to fly between London and San Francisco this summer season competing with United Airlines, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
