Finally, Wingo has launched the sale of its non-stop flights between Bogotá and Caracas, an iconic route that was suspended in early 2020 due to the pandemic and only began to be resumed by some airlines at the end of last year.

The first flight between Bogotá and Caracas by Wingo will take place on July 25. The company will offer three weekly frequencies, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
On Tuesdays, flight P5 7010 will depart from El Dorado airport at 3:36 PM to arrive at Maiquetía at 6:33 PM. The return as P5 7011 will be at 7:43 PM, arriving in Bogotá at 8:41 PM.
On Thursdays, flight P5 7066 will depart from Bogotá at 4:26 PM, arriving in Caracas at 7:23 PM, from where it will take off as P5 7067 at 8:33 PM to land in El Dorado at 9:31 PM.
Finally, on Saturdays, flight P5 7066 will depart from Bogotá at 5:57 PM to arrive in Caracas at 8:54 PM. The departure from Maiquetía airport as P5 7067 will be at 10:04 PM, landing in the Colombian capital at 11:02 PM.
Flights are operated on Boeing 737-800 aircraft with a capacity for 186 passengers.

With Caracas, Wingo’s international flight network from Colombia will now reach 13 cities. In addition to the Venezuelan capital, it flies to Quito, San José in Costa Rica, Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, Panama City-Tocumen, Lima, Havana, Guayaquil, Curacao, Cancun, Balboa, and Aruba.
Competition on flights between Caracas and Bogotá
Wingo will compete on the route between both capitals with SATENA (3 weekly flights/150 seats per direction), LASER (5 weekly flights/735 seats per direction) and Turpial (4 weekly flights/576 seats per direction).
From being one of the most important South American markets, averaging 17 daily flights in 2017, Colombia-Venezuela fell to about 30 weekly flights in early 2020 by LASER, Avior and Wingo.
According to data collected by Aviacionline from statistics of the Civil Aeronautics of Colombia, in 2019, there were 157,169 passengers on the Bogotá (BOG) – Caracas (CCS) route, with an average occupancy of 67.43%. This route was positioned as the seventh most important in South America at El Dorado International Airport (BOG).
