With three more flights as of December 16th, Ceará will have ten weekly connections with Lisbon. The increase made by TAP Air Portugal, the company that operates the route, aims to meet the demand of Europeans visiting the State.

Currently, Ceará already has daily flights departing from Fortaleza International Airport. According to the Secretary of Tourism of Ceará, Yrwana Albuquerque, the increase in flights by the company will be important to expand the presence of tourists from Europe.

«We have excellent demand from European tourists, and Lisbon stands out as a gateway to the continent. The excellent flight occupancy rates and the work that Setur-CE has been doing were very important for this action by the company», he highlighted.
Carlos Antunes, TAP’s director for the Americas, emphasizes that the increase in flights is part of the airline’s strategy to strengthen connectivity between the Brazilian Northeast. «During the festive period, demand increases and, in this sense, we decided to strategically increase our frequencies in some locations to meet passenger demand,» highlights.
