The first European airline in Tulum

During the recent International Tourism Trade Fair (Fitur) held in Madrid, Spain, the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council (CPTQ) announced that negotiations were underway to attract airlines from Switzerland, Germany, and Spain to Tulum.

The majority of airlines that had already announced their arrival at the new Mexican airport were North American: Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, American Airlines, jetBlue, and Air Canada, connecting with eleven destinations in the United States and Canada with up to 12 flights daily in each direction. Recently, the first flights from Central and South America were announced with Copa Airlines through Panama City.

The arrival of these airlines to Tulum throughout 2024 will boost international tourism in the region. In addition, an increase in hotel infrastructure is expected in the coming months due to construction projects in the area.

Other European airlines operating in Cancun, 133 kilometers from Tulum, are World2Fly and Iberojet from Spain, TUI Airways from the United Kingdom, Denmark, and the Netherlands, Edelweiss Air from Switzerland, and Neos to Italy.
