Iberia Express launched its programming for summer 2024

Iberia Express has unveiled its schedule for the upcoming summer season of 2024. The period will commence on March 30th, with an 8% increase in its offerings compared to 2023.

The low-cost airline under the IAG group strongly emphasizes the Canary Islands and Balearic Islands while expanding its capacity on numerous international flights.

Isabel Rodríguez, Commercial Director of Iberia Express, stated: «The Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands remain our primary markets, but additionally, for summer, we are reintroducing highly attractive seasonal destinations such as Crete, Iceland, or Edinburgh. We are also expanding in other areas like Cairo and reinforcing our operations with European cities such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Dublin, or Manchester.»

«Our goal is to offer our customers the best options for travel and enjoyment of their vacations,» added Rodríguez.

Summer will extend until October 26th, 2024, during which Iberia Express will operate 28 routes.

Canary Islands

Iberia Express will increase its services to the Canary Islands, offering more than 2 million seats, representing a 15% capacity increase compared to 2023 and nearly 40% compared to 2019.

The airline will expand its services across the archipelago, particularly noting a 21% increase in seats on the Gran Canaria route, with 18% and 14% growth, respectively, at Tenerife Norte and Tenerife Sur airports and a 13% increase in La Palma.

The low-cost carrier will operate up to nine daily flights to Gran Canaria, ten to Tenerife, three to Lanzarote, two to Fuerteventura, and up to two daily flights to La Palma.

Oviedo-Tenerife and Vigo-Tenerife routes will be added during June, July, August, and September, with two weekly flights during the peak months.

Balearic Islands

Iberia Express will offer more than 1.1 million seats, a 22% increase compared to 2023 and nearly 90% compared to pre-pandemic figures.

The low-cost airline will connect Madrid and Mallorca with up to eight daily flights, add up to four daily flights to Ibiza, and commence operations to Menorca in April with two daily flights, increasing to four in July and August.

Europe

Iberia Express will reintroduce popular seasonal destinations from previous campaigns, increasing capacity by 56% in this segment.

The airline will commence operations in Reykjavík, Iceland, on March 20th, allowing customers to enjoy this destination during Easter. The route will have three weekly flights in June, July, and August.

Edinburgh will also commence operations at the end of March, with three weekly flights scheduled throughout the summer, tripling capacity compared to the previous year.

Iberia Express will add Bari and Heraklion, Crete, to its network in June, offering two weekly flights during July and August.

Among Iberia Express’ permanent destinations, the most significant growth will occur in European capitals such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Dublin, Manchester, and Naples. The Amsterdam route will increase its capacity with seven weekly flights, transitioning from two to three daily flights starting in April.

Berlin will experience a 20% growth, operating between three and four daily flights throughout the summer. Dublin will increase its capacity by up to 24%, offering up to two daily flights with A321neo aircraft. Naples will also see up to 12 weekly flights, and Manchester will increase from four to five weekly flights during summer.

Africa and the Middle East

Iberia Express will double its capacity to Cairo, increasing from three to six weekly flights, solidifying its presence in this destination launched on October 30th.

Marrakech will maintain its offer of up to two daily flights, with the significant addition being the resumption of its route to Tel Aviv, starting from April 1st, with four weekly frequencies.
