In 2024, Iberia will surpass 5.3 million available seats between Europe and Latin America, setting a new record for connectivity. This increase represents a growth of 16.4% compared to the previous year and more than 20% compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019.
The airline has also reported a significant increase in the number of weekly flights. In 2024, Iberia will operate more than 320 flights per week, surpassing the 280 flights during the summer season of 2023 and the 300 flights during last Christmas.
The growth of Iberia’s operations is reflected in several specific routes:
- Iberia will end 2024 with three daily flights between Buenos Aires and Madrid, 50% more than in the previous winter season, after increasing from 14 to 17 during the summer.
- In Brazil, Iberia will reach 14 weekly flights to São Paulo (in April, the frequency increased from 7 to 10). Rio de Janeiro will maintain six weekly flights.
- Flights between Bogotá and Madrid will maintain 21 weekly frequencies throughout the year.
- Between Mexico City and Madrid, 21 weekly flights will also be maintained.
- In Peru, 13 weekly flights between Madrid and Lima will be consolidated.
- Iberia will operate 11 weekly flights between Madrid and Santiago de Chile from June to September, and 10 for the rest of the year.
- In Ecuador, it will maintain one daily flight between Madrid and Quito and three weekly flights between Madrid and Guayaquil.
- Iberia will operate one daily flight between Madrid and Montevideo throughout the year.
- In Caracas, it will maintain five weekly flights.
- The route between Madrid and Santo Domingo will reach 10 weekly flights in December.
- San Juan (Puerto Rico) will have seven weekly flights for most of the year.
- Havana will maintain three weekly flights.
- In Costa Rica, Guatemala, and El Salvador, Iberia will operate one daily flight, and in Panama, four per week.
