After four years, Hainan Airlines returned to Mexico with services to Tijuana and Mexico City, becoming the third Chinese airline to connect Mainland China and Latin America.
The last operation of Hainan Airlines in Mexico was on January 28, 2020, on a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
Flight HU 7925, operated on a Boeing 787-9 with registration B-207U, departed from Beijing Capital International Airport at 22:14 local time on July 13, and landed in Tijuana at 19:14. It then continued to Mexico City, landing at 2:02 the following day, after more than 17 hours. This first operation recorded 210 passengers.

The route is operated with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, which have a capacity of 287/290 seats in two classes: 29 in Business Class and 258/261 in Economy. In recent months, Hainan Airlines has increased flights and resumed routes to Boston, Dublin, Manchester, Brussels, Vienna, Milan-Malpensa, Berlin, Edinburgh, and Seattle.
Beijing is the third city in Asia with nonstop flights to Mexico. Currently, Aeromexico and All Nippon Airways operate nonstop flights between Mexico City International Airport and Tokyo. China Southern Airlines offers a service between Shenzhen and Mexico City with a technical stop in Tijuana, operated by an Airbus A350-900. Additionally, in August, Aeromexico will resume its services between the Mexican capital and Seoul-Incheon with a stop in Monterrey, using a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
