Five months after formally submitting the application to the United States Department of Transportation (USDoT), Aerus announced that it will begin service to the border cities of Brownsville (BRO) and Corpus Christi (CRP), Texas, with flights from Monterrey (MTY), starting on September 12, 2024.
Aerus becomes the fourth Mexican airline to connect the United States with Mexico, joining Aeromexico, Viva Aerobus, and Volaris.
«We are very pleased to start our international operations, linking the cities of Monterrey with Brownsville and Corpus Christi. We are confident that passengers will have an unparalleled experience in terms of comfort, safety, punctuality, and quality of service.» said Javier Herrera Garcia, CEO of Aerus.
Both Texas destinations are popular with Mexican tourists for shopping opportunities due to their proximity to the border.
Aerus Flight Schedule to Texas
The flight duration is approximately 30 to 45 minutes, reducing the 3 hours and 45 minutes to Brownsville and 5 hours and 30 minutes to Corpus Christi by road. The operations will be conducted with Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft, streamlining the boarding process. In fact, the airline states that passengers can check in up to 60 minutes before departure.
