As we anticipated a few days ago, Aeroméxico has finally confirmed today that, as part of its 90th anniversary celebration, it will renew its iconic «Caballero Águila» and apply a new livery to its aircraft.
The Embraer E190, registration XA-IAC, is the first aircraft to receive the new livery, with more than 150 aircraft in Aeroméxico’s fleet gradually following suit.
Andrés Conesa, CEO of Aeroméxico, expressed on his LinkedIn account that this change «symbolizes the adaptation and commitment we feel to continue bringing the best of contemporary Mexico to the world, without losing sight of our origins and the legacy we continue to build every day.»
«This 90th anniversary is a great opportunity to remember all the achievements we’ve reached, to look ahead, and to give our best to continue elevating the journey to new heights,» the executive concluded.
The redesign of the «Caballero Águila,» according to the company, now presents «a more human face, reflecting the closeness and empathy we work on every day for our customers, collaborators, and partners, proudly showcasing contemporary Mexico.»
«This dynamism and modernity in our image, fleet, products, and services allow us to continue elevating the journey toward an extraordinary experience, taking care of ourselves and our world,» they added.
Key Features of the New Livery
The most notable change is the redesign of the tail art. The iconic Caballero Águila, representing an elite Aztec warrior, has been updated with more detailed feather patterns and a more pronounced eagle eye.
The blue detail that previously extended from the tail to the top of the fuselage now moves in the opposite direction, descending with a gradient that transitions to violet. This gradient pattern is also reflected on the engine, transitioning from solid blue to the gradient design.
The red stripe has been removed, and the company logo has been updated with a new, more striking typography that says «AEROMÉXICO» in a unified and bold style, with no distinction between uppercase and lowercase letters.
