La Argentine Air Navigation Company (EANA) has selected Indra to modernize air traffic management (ATM) systems in the five control centers that cover the country’s airspace. The company will implement ManagAir, an advanced technological solution that will optimize the efficiency and safety of air operations while contributing to more sustainable aviation.
ManagAir is a centralized air traffic management (ATM) solution developed by Indra, designed to integrate and optimize all air traffic control services, ranging from en-route, approach, and aerodrome control to complete gate-to-gate flight supervision.
Main features of ManagAir:
- Complete integration: Combines en-route, approach, and tower services into a single ATM suite, including advanced systems such as the Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (A-SMGCS) level 4 and integration with virtual tower solutions like IRTOS.
- 4D trajectory management: Enables the planning of more precise and efficient routes, reducing fuel consumption, CO₂ emissions, and flight times.
- Advanced automation: Provides a high degree of automation in control tasks, including silent coordination, flexible use of airspace, and support for oceanic control with ADS-C and CPDLC capabilities.
- Safety tools: Incorporates conflict detection functionalities and advanced safety nets, enhancing operational safety.
With this implementation in Argentina, Indra strengthens its position as a leader in the region. The company has already modernized 70% of the air traffic control centers in Latin America, deploying close to 50 air surveillance radars and a similar number of radio navigation systems.
In recent projects, ManagAir has proven its effectiveness in managing large airspaces, as seen in Morocco, where it facilitated the implementation of the «free route» concept, and in Vietnam, optimizing operations in two-thirds of the country’s airspace.
Indra’s technology, with more than 30 years of presence in Argentina, is already operational at Ezeiza International Airport, the country’s most important terminal, where it has implemented surveillance and landing aid systems.
