Aeromexico restarted its flights to Guatemala on October 4, with three weekly flights from Mexico City, following the progressive plan to restart operations.

To carry out this step, the operation strategy was coordinated with the Guatemalan Tourism Institute (Inguat) and its airport.

The airline, through its Health and Hygiene Management System, contributes significantly to the safety of its operations for both its crew and the passenger. The news constitutes an incentive for the economic recovery of Guatemala, since no one has been unaware of the impact generated by the covid on international finances, both private and public.

The restart of operations seeks to recover the demand for passengers, hit badly by the pandemic. Prior to the closure of borders, the number of travelers was around 475,680 passengers, with almost 42 weekly flights and operators such as AeroMéxico, AeroMéxico Connect, Interjet and Volaris Costa Rica.

Aeromexico’s return to the country is one more step within the airline’s strategy to continue reactivating operations in Central America and the rest of the world.

«Aeromexico has always been an ally for Guatemalan aviation and economy, which is why we are very excited about its resumption of air operations in our country.» said Francis Argueta Aguirre, general director of Civil Aeronautics of Guatemala.
