Flights to Mexico: Spirit set to fly to Tulum’s new airport

Spirit Airlines expands its operation in Mexico with new routes to Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport (TQO) in Tulum: the airline is the first U.S. low cost carrier to announce flights at the new airport. In addition, Tulum will be the airline’s fourth destination in the Aztec country.

Tulum is an increasingly popular choice for leisure travelers, and our direct flights from Florida will make a getaway to Mexico’s enchanting coastline more accessible than ever, just in time for spring break,” said John Kirby, Spirit Airlines’ Vice President of Network Planning.

Spirit will offer daily flights from Fort Lauderdale and Orlando to Tulum beginning March 28, 2024, promotional fares are available starting at $149 each way. According to Spirit’s schedule, it will consolidate its position as the U.S. airline with the largest supply of seats at Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport (TQO).

We have a long history of serving Mexico, and the new Tulum airport is a great addition that will make it easier for our guests to get to the city and enjoy its beaches, history and variety of unique experiences,” added Kirby.

  • Tulum – Fort Lauderdale Flight NK 1552 TQO 12:05 – FLL 15:00

Flight schedules between Orlando and Tulum

  • Orlando – Tulum Flight NK 345 MCO 15:00 – TQO 18:10
  • Tulum – Orlando Flight NK 346 TQO 14:55 – MCO 18:05

The addition of the new services to Tulum increases the airline’s international service in Fort Lauderdale to 26 destinations and Orlando to 11 destinations. Florida is a strategic market for the airline’s Latin American and Caribbean operations.
