On Monday morning, June 6, a Boeing 747-300M ex-Mahan Air landed in Cordoba after ending up diverted from its original destination, Ezeiza airport in Buenos Aires.
The aircraft arrived this noon at Taravella airport, in what was the first operation of a Boeing 747 since 2015. The aircraft took off at 14:35 to complete the original trip to Ezeiza.
The 747-300M, currently carrying registration YV3531 is 36 years old and was delivered to UTA -Union de Transports Aériens- in January 1986, where it operated until the company’s closure in 1992, when it joined Air France.
At Air France, where it operated with the registration F-GETA, it was withdrawn from service in 2006 and sold to Mahan Air in 2007 and incorporated with the registration EP-MND. It was transferred to EMTRASUR Cargo earlier this year and christened «Luisa Caceres de Arismendi».
EMTRASUR Cargo is a subsidiary of Conviasa created in November 2021, and its objective is the planning, administration and control of air cargo and mail operations and activities at national and international level.
