Aerolíneas Argentinas has signed two dedicated engine maintenance support contracts with Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M), the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services division of the French-Dutch company.

Under the agreement, Air France-KLM will carry out maintenance work on the CFM56-7B engines used by the Boeing 737-700 and 737-800 aircraft operated by the Argentine flag carrier, as well as on the CF6-80E1 engines that equip its Airbus A330-200. The work will include repair services and workshop visits.

In the framework of MRO Latin America 2023, Pablo Ceriani, President of Aerolíneas Argentinas, confirmed that the company plans to expand its major maintenance capabilities to be able to also offer this service to third party operators at competitive prices, in a context of growing demand for these services as a result of delays in their contracting and problems in supply chains.

Extending the partnership

«The two operators have forged a close partnership defined by mutual trust and responsiveness, a relationship that is now being extended via these new contracts», Air France-KLM stressed in a press release.

«AFI KLM E&M is a partner that has always been on-hand and receptive to our needs, coming up with custom-designed and efficient service packages», said Diego Georgiadis, Technical Area Director at Aerolíneas Argentinas. «The expertise, responsiveness and availability of their teams, along with their ability to appreciate the challenges we face as an airline, provide major peace of mind and the guarantee of optimal support services from both a financial and operational point of view», he added.

«We are honored and delighted that Aerolíneas Argentinas is calling upon our services once again», said Paul-Antoine Vivet, VP Sales Americas at AFI KLM E&M.
