The concessionaire company for the airports of Arequipa, Ayacucho, Juliaca, Puerto Maldonado and Tacna, Aeropuertos Andinos del Perú (AAP), reported that during the first quarter of 2021 they handled 315,510 passengers on 3,433 commercial flights, which represents a 59.8% drop when compared to the same period in 2020, prior to the outbreak of the pandemic.

The company said that 158,000 passengers passed through the Arequipa airport, followed by Juliaca with 76,000, Tacna with 42,000, Puerto Maldonado with 28,000, and Ayacucho with 23,000.
