Paraguay’s Paranair Adds a Third Destination in Argentina

The government of the Argentine province of Jujuy and Paranair announced the signing of an agreement that will allow the connection between Asunción and San Salvador de Jujuy.

According to the governor of Jujuy, Carlos Sadir, the Paraguayan company will operate two weekly flights between the two cities starting in November.

“This is a great step for Jujuy, which is consolidating as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region due to its landscapes, its culture, and the warmth of its people, who captivate those who visit. We continue to promote tourism and regional and international connectivity,” said Sadir.

Flight ZP 870 will depart from Asunción on Thursdays at 14:30, arriving in Jujuy at 16:30. The return flight, ZP 871, will depart at 17:10, arriving in Asunción at 18:50.

On Sundays, the departure time from the Paraguayan capital will be at 11:30, landing in Jujuy at 13:10, returning at 13:50, and landing in Asunción at 15:30.

San Salvador de Jujuy will be Paranair’s third destination in Argentina, after Buenos Aires (which it serves with 14 weekly flights at Aeroparque) and Córdoba (4 weekly flights). In all cases, it operates with its CRJ200 aircraft.

Asunción was last connected with northwest Argentina by Amaszonas Paraguay (predecessor of Paranair), which had a stopover in Salta before continuing to Iquique, Chile. After the airline’s rebranding, the route was discontinued in February 2019.

In addition to Buenos Aires and Córdoba, Paranair’s network from Asunción includes:
