Lima Airport Handled Over 450,000 Passengers since the Restart of Scheduled Flights
Since the restart of scheduled flights in July 15 to October 15, 2020, Jorge Chavez Airport in Lima registered a total of 4,202 domestic and international movements, handling over 450,000 passengers.
Peru main airport had an average of 44 domestic flights per day from July 15 to October 15; and 6 daily international flights per day from October 5 to 15.
«Since the restart of scheduled operations, every week we have been adapting to the new processes and protocols required to offer a safe trip to the passenger, in face of this new normal,» said Pamela Moreno, General Manger of Lima Airport Partner (LAP), private operator of Jorge Chavez Airport.
“This first quarter of operations has meant for the passenger learning a new way of traveling. Through our #ViajemosSeguros (Safe Travel) campaign we have been reinforcing the messages on the protocols to be followed at the airport and the recommendations for the passenger for their visit to the terminal ”, she added.
During the las three months the airport registered 70.6% less passengers compared to the same period in 2019.
According to LAP’s projection, by the end of 2020, Lima Airport will have handled a little more than 6 million passengers, far from the number obtained in 2019 (23 million passengers).
