Eastern Airlines Launches New Route to Asuncion, Paraguay

Between April and mid-October, Eastern Airlines has made many repatriation flights to Asuncion, capital city of Paraguay, from Miami International Airport. This special flights were made on their Boeing 767-200 and Boeing 767-300, with a capacity of 218 and 244 passengers respectively.

Eastern Airlines announced that they will start another route from Miami in November. After 5 years without a non-stop connection with United States, Asunción will have flights to Miami in the next few weeks.

The last airline that made non-stop flights between Miami and Asuncion was American Airlines, but the company stopped flying to Paraguay in March, 2015.

Eastern Airlines will start Asunción´s route by November 8th, 2020. Firstly, the company will have one weekly flight between United States and Paraguay. From December 15th, Eastern will operate twice a week on their Boeing 767-200 and Boeing 767-300 planes.

Including Asuncion´s new route from November, Eastern will have three destinations from Miami:

  • Asuncion, Paraguay (from November 8, 2020).
  • Georgetown, Guyana (2 weekly flights).
  • Guayaquil, Ecuador (2 weekly flights).

Eastern Airlines plans to launch Miami – Buenos Aires Ezeiza route from December 12th, 2020. Flights have not been published on Eastern´s reservation system yet, but are expected to do so shortly.
