According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Airports of Peru S.A. and the DOHWA-SEG Consortium signed on October 28, a contract for the technical file groundwork for the Major General FAP Armando Revoredo Iglesias Airport Expansion Project.
The purpose of the project is to expand and improve the Cajamarca’s airport current operating conditions, optimizing the use of the available area, expanding its production capacity, and contributing to the commercial, industrial, tourist and cultural development of the area.
The Cajamarca Airport Expansion Project requires an investment of $38.62 million, and the deadline for preparing the file is 360 calendar days.
After the technical file is completed and approved, the contracting process will be carried out for the execution of the work, which will allow the creation of new direct and indirect jobs, contributing to the boost of the Cajamarca’s economy.
The Cajamarca’s airport expansion project is part of the investments foreseen in the master development plan, within the framework of the concession contract of the first group of province airports in Peru.
Currently, only 2 airlines are flying to Cajamarca: LATAM Airlines with 3 daily frequencies and Star Perú, with 2 daily frequencies.
