TAP resumes flights to Maceió and Recife with the Airbus A321

TAP Air Portugal resumed flying to Alagoas with a circular operation that will operate through Recife and will be served by Airbus A321 aircraft.

The company had suspended flights to the city during the pandemic and had been postponing the restart due to border restrictions and demand. With the return, the flight will be performed on a triangular basis, as the aircraft will depart from Lisbon, connect in Recife, head to Maceió, and then return to Pernambuco and then back to Portugal.

Through our Brazilian media partner Aeroin, we know that the route will be operated by TAP Air Portugal’s Airbus A321neoLR, which is a modified long-range version of the A321Neo normally used for short- and medium-haul domestic flights.

In this version, part of the cargo compartment is converted into additional fuel tanks, allowing sufficient fuel capacity to safely cross the Atlantic.

The aircraft arrived in Maceió at 7:10 p.m. from Recife, and departed from the capital of Alagoas back to Pernambuco at 9:05 p.m.
