Effective this Saturday, December 11, Brazil will require a complete vaccination plan and a RT-PCR test to enter by air, otherwise, passengers will have to complete quarantine of at least five days.

According to INTERMINISTERIAL Nº 661, published on December 8, the measure covers all persons, Brazilian or foreign, entering Brazil by air, otherwise, they will have to undergo a five-day quarantine in the destination city.
In the event of a flight with connections or stopovers where the traveler remains in a restricted area of the airport, the aforementioned periods will be considered in relation to the boarding of the first leg of the trip.

Prior to the above, travelers had to present only the Traveler’s Health Declaration (DSV), a document available on the website of the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) and a negative RT-PCR test performed up to 72 hours prior to boarding.

For children under 12 years of age traveling accompanied, the regulation states that they are exempt from presenting a document certifying the testing for them, provided that all accompanying persons present documents with a negative or undetectable result, performed within 72 hours prior to boarding, or an antigen test performed within 24 hours prior to travel.

Such measure is given on the same date on which the entrance by land to the Brazilian territory will be permitted, in which it is required to have the proof, printed or electronic, of vaccination with immunizing agents approved by Anvisa, by WHO, or by the authorities of the country where the person was vaccinated and whose application of the last dose or single dose occurred at least 14 days prior to the date of entry into the country; or test for SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection (covid-19), with negative or undetectable result, of the antigen test type, performed within 24 hours prior to entry, or laboratory RT-PCR, performed within 72 hours prior to entry into Brazil.
