Covid-19: three airports in Brazil to have vaccination centers

The Brazilian Ministry of Health announced this week that the airports of Brasilia, Guarulhos in Sao Paulo, and Galeao in Rio de Janeiro will have vaccination stands against Covid-19. The services will start operating as of December 13.

Such announcement was made on the same day that the new rules for passengers entering the country were published. The inter-ministerial decree establishes the requirement of mandatory 5-day quarantine for unvaccinated travelers.

As reported by our partner Aeroin, according to the Executive Secretary of the Brazilian Airports Department, Rodrigo Cruz, the airports of Brasília, Guarulhos, and Galeao concentrate the highest volume of international passengers. It is intended that the vaccination post will be in operation especially during the busiest hours at the terminals.

” Also if any passenger arrives and is interested in getting immunized, he or she will have the vaccine available there,” said Cruz, noting that, despite this, the newly immunized traveler would still have to comply with the 5-day quarantine before being able to circulate in the country.

Cruz also added that health authorities are monitoring the present epidemiological scenario and that if there is a worsening in this regard, the issue will be discussed again in 30 days.
