On the other hand, the French West Indies airline, Air Antilles will increase its services to Antigua (ANU) during the northern winter season.

The new services include twice-weekly flights on Mondays and Fridays from Barbados (BGI) and St. Lucia (UVF) to Antigua (ANU). The flights will commence on December 17, 2021, as stipulated by the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority.

Additionally, Air Antilles is also launching direct service between St. Maarten (SXM) and Antigua (ANU), with a connection from Guadeloupe (PTP).

«As travel demand returns, Antigua and Barbuda is now re-establishing itself as the heart of the Caribbean,» said Charles Fernandez, Antigua’s Minister of Tourism.

These new flights will provide a greater opportunity to connect with flights from Europe via St. Maarten (SXM), which currently offers a connection to Paris (CDG) with daily flights and Amsterdam (AMS) with three weekly frequencies.

«The addition of this service has been eagerly awaited as Antigua is a vital gateway to fulfill Air Antilles’ commitment to providing a key air bridge throughout the English-speaking Caribbean,» said Romain Hordel, Chief Commercial Officer of Air Antilles.
