Volaris doubles its commitment to Central America with more flights to the U.S.

Volaris has announced that it plans to increase its frequencies in Central and South America by 50%, offering an average of 157,000 seats per month on 16 routes in those regions.

Starting January 15, 2022, the Mexican ultra-low-cost carrier, which has subsidiaries in El Salvador and Costa Rica, will increase its frequency between San Salvador and Washington and between San Salvador and Los Angeles from four flights per week to seven, while maintaining four operations per week to New York.

Meanwhile, Volaris will offer two daily flights between Guatemala and Mexico City (currently six per week), and between Cancun and San Jose, Costa Rica (currently one daily flight), while between the Costa Rican capital and Mexico City it will operate one daily flight (currently three per week).

Regarding South America, Volaris will have daily flights to Bogota from Mexico City and Cancun, when today it has four and three weekly flights respectively.

«This business decision aims to boost connectivity with the United States to unite friends and family, reinforce the leisure route network with destinations in Mexico and Colombia, and encourage small and medium-sized businesses with increased intra-Central America frequencies,» said Omar Carrera, Volaris’ Sr. Commercial Director.

«Volaris’ structure in Central and South America is designed to improve competitiveness in the market, lowering fares through our ultra-low-cost model, and expanding options for travelers in the region,» he concluded.
