Colombia Migration together with Avianca set up an airline counter at the El Dorado Airport in Bogota where Colombian citizens can register in BioMig and expedite the immigration process when leaving the country.
The space, which has been available since December 23, is intended to benefit citizens by avoiding queues at the Immigration agents’ attention desks when traveling abroad.
BioMig is a procedure by which Colombia Migration collects biographic and biometric data through people’s irises to allow their authentication through the migratory corridors and facilitate in less time the entry and exit of Colombian territory.
With this innovation, it is expected to reduce congestion in the immigration processes at El Dorado Airport and thus facilitate the terminal’s operation.
People who have already registered in the system can avoid the queues and go directly to the self-service machines with this option and complete their immigration process in no more than 20 seconds thanks to the iris reading.
