A letter of intent has just been signed between Falko Regional Aircraft Limited and Embraer-owned EVE for a potential order of 200 eVTOLs – electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles – and a partnership to advance sustainable urban air mobility.
Falko is a leading regional commercial aircraft leasing company, which will work with Eve to define regional route networks on which the Embraer-owned company’s aircraft can be introduced.
According to Jeremy Barnes, CEO of Falk, the company «has been cooperating closely with Embraer since 2014 and chose Eve as its Urban Air Mobility partner because of its long history in certifying reliable aircraft for more than 52 years.»
«We are very enthusiastic about our strategic partnership with Eve, which is part of our drive to be at the forefront of greening the aviation sector. We strongly believe in the prospects of the eVTOL market and that Eve, with the support of Embraer’s expertise in aircraft manufacturing, certification, and support, will be a market leader,» he added.
The agreement also provides for the adoption of new air traffic management software and the introduction of fleet operations services to create a secure and scalable network for Falko tenants using Eve-produced aircraft.
«Our partnership with Falko, a trusted leader in aircraft leasing, solidifies our position in the global urban air mobility market and not only expands our potential operator base through the global customer presence it possesses but also enhances our ability to provide complete solutions through partnerships. We are proud to have Falko as a strategic partner in Eve as our two organizations collaborate to lead a new generation of sustainable innovation in aviation,» said Andre Stein, co-CEO of Eve.
This partnership opens an exciting path for the eVTOL developed by Embraer. Having the support of one of the leading global regional aircraft lessors, by value and number of aircraft, is a great boost to promote emission-free urban air mobility in the future.
