This is what it looks like inside a government VIP Boeing 787 seeking buyer

The Mexican government’s VIP Boeing 787 VIP that President López Obrador rejects to use, was listed for sale by the broker Global Jet.

In the portfolio of the aircraft buying and selling company, there is also the Boeing 767-300ER known as “El Bandido”, which belonged to billionaire Roman Abramovich.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador explained before assuming the presidency that the purchase of the aircraft was a bad deal for the Mexican people since according to him, millions of dollars were spent that could have been better used for the benefit of society. The truth is that the unit has been for sale for years and during all that time it could not find a buyer.

According to what was reported by our associated media Aeroin, in the advertisement published by Global Jet, some images of the characteristics of the Mexican aircraft are disclosed, highlighting how pleasant flying in it is.

The publication does not reveal the price of the aircraft, but according to Mexican media, it is estimated to be around 200 million dollars. To date, the government has received several offers below that amount and immediately rejected them.

Unlike Abramovich’s Boeing 767, which was owned by a billionaire businessman, the Mexican aircraft has a different appeal. Since it belongs to the government, it does not have guest rooms, but only a suite for the head of state and business class seats for the entourage.

All in all, the aircraft is capable of accommodating up to 80 passengers. A curious fact is that the president’s office has a treadmill so that the president can exercise during his travels.

The advantage for the buyer is that the unit has very few cycles. In total, it has only 881 landings and takeoffs and 1,741 flight hours, because it was inactive for several years. It is a relatively new aircraft, manufactured in 2010, with technical support from Boeing, which is located in the United States, a neighboring country to Mexico.

The disadvantage is that its configuration is oriented to presidential flights, so many modifications would have to be made to the layout if the buyer wants to use it for another purpose. One of the reasons why the unit has few interested parties is that all these changes would mean a significant investment of money.

Another detail that makes the aircraft more expensive is the fact that it is equipped with communication instruments dedicated to the service of a Chief of State. In addition, passengers have at their disposal a satellite in-flight entertainment system and wireless Internet connection via Wi-Fi.
