The Brazilian company, Eve, owned by Embraer is doing well at the Singapore Airshow 2022, which is taking place between February 13 and 18 in Singapore. Today, February 16, it announced two agreements that could generate up to 90 orders.

On the one hand, Eve closed a partnership with Australian helicopter company Microflite. With this deal, they will strengthen urban air mobility in Melbourne through the addition of 40 eVTOLs starting in 2026.

Microflite and Eve

“Microflite and Eve plan to begin their partnership using helicopters as a proof of concept to validate parameters to be applied to future eVTOL operations. This partnership also aims to develop new services and procedures. Those will create a safe and scalable operating environment for eVTOL operations together with communities and other industry stakeholders,” an Embraer statement assures.

Jonathan Booth, CEO of Microflite, said that “after working closely with Eve over the past few months, we have identified a network of potential routes. We look forward to working with business partners and communities. We aim to prioritize these routes and test selected operations with our existing fleet.”

But Eve also announced another deal at the Singapore Airshow. The pact with Australian companies Aviair and HeliSpirit, members of the HM Consolidated group, calls for an order of up to 50 units of its eVTOL.

Aviair and HeliSpirit CEO Michael McConachy said, “This year marks 20 years of HeliSpirit’s green accreditation as a leader in green travel. This inducts us into Australia’s Ecotourism Hall of Fame, so it’s a good time to commit to significantly reducing our carbon footprint by operating zero-emission electric aircraft (. ..).Eve’s eVTOL technology is well aligned with our business model and our desire to be at the forefront of carbon-neutral solutions for the aviation industry. The aircraft’s low noise level makes them particularly suitable for operations in sensitive natural environments. This includes national parks. And also World Heritage areas, as well as for urban transfers that provide fast and efficient solutions for both business and tourism travelers.”

CEO Words

Andre Stein, co-CEO of Eve, said, “This initiative is a significant milestone for Eve. Our partnership opens up an important market in Western Australia where our aircraft will serve Australia’s iconic tourist attractions with zero-emission, low-noise flights. We share a common vision of a zero-carbon future for air mobility, backed by Eve’s eVTOL, comprehensive service and support network, and air traffic management solutions.”

Project Eve draws on Embraer’s expertise in its aircraft program. And at the same time is leveraging the expertise of Atech. This is a subsidiary of the company that provides globally recognized air traffic management software to create the solutions that will help safely scale the UAM industry into the future.
