Air Caraïbes, based in the French Caribbean Antilles, announced that it will connect Paris/Orly (ORY) with Cancun (CUN) starting October 22.
The airline was scheduled to inaugurate the route in 2020, but because of the health crisis, it decided to postpone its plans to fly to Mexico.
Initially, two weekly flights will be operated (Wednesdays and Saturdays), and as of December a third weekly flight will be added (Mondays). The equipment chosen is the Airbus A350-900 offering eighteen seats in Madras (Business Class), 45 seats in the Caribbean (Premium Economy Class) and 326 seats in Soleil (Economy Class).
The offer reaches the main stations of the metropolis, Nantes, Lyon, Bordeaux, Rennes, and Lille, which will be connected to this new link by an agreement with the French national railroad company SNCF.

The airline will have to compete with Air France, which has up to one daily flight in high season on Boeing 777-200ER from Paris/Charles de Gaulle (CDG).

The company has a fleet of three ATR 72-600s and its transatlantic division, Air Caraibes Atlantique, operates three Airbus A330-200s, two Airbus A330-300s, three Airbus A350-900s and four Airbus A350-1000s.
The company operates from Paris/Orly (ORY) to Fort de France (FDF), Martinique; Cayenne (CAY), French Guiana; Pointe-a-Pitre (PTP), Guadeloupe; Port Au Prince (PAP), Haiti; St. Maarten (SXM) and Punta Cana (PUJ), Dominican Republic. Flights to Havana (HAV) and Santiago de Cuba (SCU), Cuba, and San Salvador (ZSA), Bahamas, currently do not have a return date.
From Pointe-a-Pitre (PDP) to Santo Domingo/Las Americas (SDQ), Dominican Republic; St. Barthélemy (SBH), St. Maarten (SXM) and Fort de France (FDF).
Air Caraïbes and SNCF, the French railway company, have an agreement that covers seventeen French cities and Brussels in Belgium, where a single ticket can be combined with both companies.
