Vinci Airports presents renovation works at Santo Domingo Las Americas International Airport

Private airport operator Vinci Airports presented the renovation works carried out at Las Americas International Airport (SDQ), which serves Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. The ceremony was attended by the country’s President, Luis Abinader, together with the CEO of Vinci Concessions and President of Vinci Airports, Nicolas Notebaert.

The upgrading and modernization works at the country’s main airport were part of a process to optimize the passenger experience. They required an investment of 14 million euros.

Corporate and national authorities presented the new central atrium of the airport’s passenger terminal. The sector includes renovated recreational spaces, a varied commercial offer, an improved gastronomic proposal and better security and migration services.

“The good recovery of air traffic in Las Americas airport demonstrates the effective cooperation between Vinci Airports and the public authorities of the Dominican Republic,” said Nicolas Notebaert. “Along with our 250 airline partners, we will keep supporting touristic development, and modernizing Las Americas airport is an important step of our long term commitment”, he added.
