The private aviation marketplace Flapz operated more than 150 flights and transported more than seven hundred passengers in 2021, its first year of operations. The company consolidated its activity especially in the Colombian and Chilean markets, where it is headquartered. It also provided services between the Americas and to Europe.
According to the company, its turnover was more than 1.5 million dollars. In a press release, Flapz highlighted its strategic alliances: it worked with GE Digital to develop digital solutions for industry security, with Quikipay to diversify payment methods and include cryptocurrencies, and partnered with Varon Vehicles to explore new modes of air mobility.
Ionatan Galeano, co-founder and CEO of Flapz, argued that in 2021 they understood «the dynamics of the markets» and how to «meet the needs of the ecosystem». «Our commitment is to continue leading the digitization and innovation of private aviation in Latin America», he said.
The executive remarked that the company plans to expand its operations in 2022. For Flapz, revolutionizing access to private aviation in the region and working on its digital transformation is a «disruptive business model».
According to the start-up, something like what happened with commercial airlines could take place. In that market, the entry of the low-cost model boosted fares and reduced prices to passengers. Private aviation, which is still perceived as an exclusive service, is going through a phase of digitalization of processes, optimization of flights and offering the added value that personalization of the experience brings to customers.
