French multinational company Safran, which specializes in aeronautical equipment and the development of solutions for aircraft interiors, presented its new products at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX), which takes place in Hamburg between today and June 16th.

In a press release, the company highlighted its new seats and devices. On the other hand, it presented the “Euphony” technology, a headphone-free sound solution.

“All the products developed by Safran companies are brought together on the same stand to show visitors the latest innovations in passenger experience, cabin interiors and inflight entertainment”, they said.

New products

  • VUE: a new seat for Business Class on narrow-body aircraft operating long-haul routes. According to Safran, it will provide an experience comparable to that of similar classes seats on twin-aisle aircraft.
  • Unity: new generation of Business Class seating on wide-body aircraft, designed to offer “a high level of privacy and comfort”.
  • Interspace: a padded wing that folds out between seats in order to provide passengers with better lateral support and more privacy. The design won the Crystal Cabin award in 2021.

Euphony

Safran introduced the wireless acoustic device as a world premiere at the Aircraft Interiors Expo. It will provide “a high-quality, headset-free, individual sound experience”, according to the company. It is expected to be available from 2023.

Euphony

With Euphony, “each individual passenger can enjoy high quality sound in every position of the seat, enabling them to make the most of the entertainment content provided by the airline free from headsets and cables”, Safran noted.

The product was developed in collaboration with Devialet, an acoustic engineering company. It uses the company’s patented technologies to provide high-fidelity sound that is clear and full-bodied. The system adjusts in real-time to the audio content and the ambient cabin noise to offer an optimum listening experience without affecting other passengers on board.
