Etihad Airways this week launched five new seasonal summer services connecting from its hub in Abu Dhabi (AUH) to the most popular destinations in Europe and the Indian Ocean.

Three of these new services began on June 15, connecting AUH to Nice (NCE) on the famous French Riviera, the storied city of Heraklion (HER) on the Greek island of Crete and Malaga (AGP), the airline’s third destination in Spain. All these new routes will be operated twice a week.

The carrier will also receive a further boost with the reinstatement of its services to Santorini (JTR), Etihad’s fourth destination in Greece and Zanzibar, Tanzania (ZNZ), both operating three times weekly.

“Summer adventurers have a lot to discover with Etihad Airways this year,” said Martin Drew, senior vice president, global sales.

“From the stunning beaches of the Costa del Sol to the perfect French Riviera, Etihad’s summer network offers even more opportunities to escape and experience the wonder of travel in 2022” added Drew.

To celebrate these route launches, passengers on the inaugural flights will receive an exclusive Etihad wellness kit to kick-start their summer vacation.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the Cirium platform, for the 2022 boreal summer season the airline will have an offer of 85,702 seats per week on 298 air operations between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and more than 20 destinations in Europe. This represents a recovery of 60.95% of its pre-COVID-19 capacity.

From Africa, Etihad continues to restore its offering, the company will have a capacity on the continent of 15,336 seats per week on 66 air operations, representing a 54.11% recovery from 2019 levels.
