TAP Air Portugal starts regular flights to Venezuela

TAP Air Portugal - Airbus A330-941

On June 21 TAP Air Portugal resumed its regular flights to Venezuela on its Lisbon (LIS) – Caracas (CCS) route with two weekly flights. Previously, the airline performed several special services between April and May.

In February of this year, the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC) authorized Portugal as one of the permitted destinations with regular passenger and cargo operations, which allowed the Portuguese flag carrier to resume its non-stop services to Venezuelan territory.

With the resumption of flights to Venezuela, TAP Air Portugal restores all its prepandemic destinations in South America. Lisbon (LIS) becomes the third European destination at Maiquetia International Airport, giving passengers more options for their trips to the Old Continent.

Flight Itinerary

  • Lisbon – Caracas Flight TP 173 LIS 12:30 – CCS 16:10 Tuesday and Saturday.
  • Caracas – Lisbon Flight TP 172 CCS 18:20 – LIS 07:25+1 Tuesday and Saturday.

The flights will be operated on Airbus A330-900neo aircraft with a capacity of 298 seats including the company’s new cabin products (34 Business Class/96 Economy Plus/168 Economy), this represents an increase of more than 15% of the capacity offered with respect to 2019. The company previously operated in Venezuela under Wet-Leasing with Boeing 767-300ER aircraft from Euroatlantic Airways.

Venezuela is the fourth country in Latin America and the Caribbean where the company operates along with Brazil, Mexico and the Dominican Republic through more than 10 cities.

Customers will also be able to choose to connect from Lisbon (LIS) to the more than 90 destinations offered by the Portuguese airline from its main hub, including places like the main European capitals or the most popular vacation cities.
