World2fly celebrates its first anniversary of operations: the newest leisure airline in Spain, made on June 19, 2021, at 15:30 local time its first flight from Terminal 1 of Adolfo Suarez Madrid – Barajas International Airport (MAD) to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (PUJ).

In June of the same year, the company received its first new Airbus A350-900 from the factory, making it the third operator of this model in Spain.

Following its entry into the Caribbean market, the company inaugurated operations in Cancun, Mexico (CUN), one of the most popular vacation destinations among Europeans. Then in September the company launched its third international destination to Havana, Cuba (HAV).

On October 29 of the same year, the airline and its new subsidiary in Portugal receive their authorization from the Department of Transportation (DOT) to conduct scheduled operations to the United States.

Expanding the destination network

World2fly in partnership with tour operator Newblue announced new charter routes from Madrid (MAD) to Barbados, Orlando, Las Vegas, Boston, Puerto Vallarta, Washington, San Francisco, Seychelles, and Uzbekistan, offering Spanish travelers a wider choice of vacation destinations.

In April of this year, the company started its first operations in Lisbon (LIS) with several Caribbean destinations to Cancun (CUN) and Punta Cana (PUJ), and on June 4 began services from the Portuguese capital to Varadero (VRA), the only non-stop flight between Portugal and Cuba.

The Spanish subsidiary recently took delivery of a second Airbus A350 and by June 19 will start a new destination with scheduled flights to Santo Domingo (SDQ), this will be the company’s second destination in the Dominican Republic. It also plans to debut long-haul operations from Oporto (OPO) on June 19, with seasonal charter service to Punta Cana (PUJ).

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Aena Estadísticas, between June 2021 and May 2022, World2fly has mobilized 81,076 passengers and 400.93 tons of cargo in 255 air operations from Spain.
