As of December 12, 2022, Air France will resume flights between Paris (CDG) and Newark (EWR) after an absence of more than 10 years. With this new service the French airline will operate from the two main airports in the New York metropolitan area.
The airline’s last operation on this route was on March 24, 2012 with five flights a week on Airbus A330-200s with a capacity of 219 seats. Then Delta Air Lines, its transatlantic Joint Venture partner resumed this service on June 1, 2013 and discontinued it on October 27, 2018. The Atlanta-based carrier operated daily flights during the peak season on Boeing 767-300ERs.
Data compiled by Aviacionline through Eurostat indicate that 307,236 passengers were mobilized in 2019 between Paris (CDG) and Newark (EWR), Air France will now compete with United Airlines on this route.
Flight Itinerary
- Paris – Newark Flight AF 062 CDG 12:30 – EWR 15:00 daily flights.
- Newark – Paris Flight AF 063 EWR 17:05 – CDG 06:05+1 daily flights.
The flights will be operated in Boeing 777-200ER with 280 seats in three classes (40 Business/28 Premium Economy/216 Economy) and the aircraft are equipped with Wi-Fi connection, and promotional fares are available from 320 euros each way.
With this new non-stop connection, the French airline is further consolidating its position as the leading carrier in the Paris – New York market. This route will add to the shuttle service between Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) where Air France offers up to six daily flights and two flights per day by its Skyteam alliance partner Delta Air Lines.
Newark (EWR) will be the French carrier’s 18th North American destination for the northern winter season, along with Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), Chicago O’ Hare (ORD), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Detroit (DTW), Houston – Intercontinental (IAH), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), New York (JFK), San Francisco (SFO), Seattle – Tacoma (SEA) and Washington Dulles (IAD) in the United States, Montreal (YUL), Toronto (YYZ) and Vancouver (YVR) in Canada, and Mexico City (MEX) and Cancun (CUN) in Mexico.
