Delta strengthens Scotland’s transatlantic connectivity with Atlanta-Edinburgh service

Delta increases Scotland’s transatlantic offerings with new nonstop service between Atlanta (ATL) and Edinburgh (EDI) with five weekly flights beginning May 23, 2023. The carrier’s last service on this route was October 26, 2007, which operated four times a week on Boeing 767s.

With this new route, Delta provides convenient connections to the most popular leisure and business destinations for Scottish travelers: New Orleans (MSY), Las Vegas (LAS), San Francisco (SFO), Daytona Beach (DAB), Mexico City (MEX), Panama City (PTY) and Tallahassee (TLH).

Flight Itinerary

  • Atlanta – Edinburgh Flight DL 34 ATL 21:05 – EDI 10:05+1 Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Edinburgh – Atlanta Flight DL 35 EDI 12:05 – ATL 16:00 Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The route will be operated on Boeing 767-300ER aircraft with 226 seats in three classes (26 Delta One/35 Delta Comfort+/165 Main Cabin) and promotional fares are available from USD 1,500 roundtrip. This service will be available from May 25 through September 4, it will be the only non-stop connection between Georgia and Scotland by summer 2023.

It will also expand service on several transatlantic services from Edinburgh (EDI), increase the route to Boston (BOS) from 5 to 7 flights per week and will be available from May 8 through October 28. The route to New York will continue to offer daily flights on Boeing 767 aircraft during the summer.

According to data compiled by Aviacionline through Cirium, Delta for the 2023 boreal summer season will have a supply of 8,168 seats per week between the U.S. and Scotland, will be the airline operator in this market.

It is vital that we continue to make it as easy as possible for international visitors to come to Scotland,» said Denise Hill, VisitScotland’s Director of Engagement.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the UK Civil Aviation Authority 424,351 passengers were flown in 2019 between Edinburgh (EDI) and North America, with the United States being its main transatlantic market.
