On November 25 Air France took delivery of its 20th Airbus A350-900 registered F-HTYT and christened «Angers«. This new aircraft will perform its first service on November 26 on flight AF 480 between Paris – Charles De Gaulle (CDG) and Lima (LIM).
The French flag carrier continues to renew its intercontinental fleet with more fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft compared to older models.
Air France took delivery of its first Airbus A350-900 in 2019 since that time all units have been named after French cities: «Toulouse», «Lyon», «Saint-Denis de la Réunion», «Nice», «Bordeaux», «Marseille», «Reims», » Dijon», «Saint-Malo», «Cannes», «Aubusson», «Pointe-à-Pitre», «Fort-de-France», «Chambord», «Cayenne», «Lille», «Menton», » Deauville» and «Biscarrosse».
In all, the company has ordered a total of 38 Airbus A350-900s, deliveries of which will continue progressively until 2025. According to the Planespotters website, the average age of the French company’s A350 fleet is 1.6 years, making them the airline’s youngest widebody aircraft.
By 2030, the latest-generation aircraft (Airbus A220s and Airbus A350s) will account for 70% of Air France’s fleet – up from 7% today – thanks to an ambitious €1 billion annual fleet renewal plan.
The airline’s A350s can accommodate 324 seats in three classes (34 Business Class/24 Premium Economy/266 Economy). Air France CONNECT customers can access the in-flight Wi-Fi offer.
For this winter season Air France’s Airbus A350-900s will serve 20 destinations across four continents from Paris – Charles De Gaulle (CDG): Atlanta (ATL), Chicago O’ Hare (ORD), Miami (MIA), Seattle – Tacoma (SEA), Mexico City (MEX), Montreal (YUL), San Jose de Costa Rica (SJO), Lima (LIM), Sao Paulo – Guarulhos (GRU), Buenos Aires (EZE), Santiago (SCL), Cairo (CAI), Tel Aviv (TLV), Beirut (BEY), Conakry (CKY), Bamako (BKO), Brazzaville (BZV) and Kinshasa (FIH).
