Norse Atlantic Airways today launched marketing on two new routes between the United Kingdom and the United States, with fares starting from 409 pounds including taxes.

On 25 May, the low-cost carrier will launch services between London-Gatwick (LGW) and Orlando (MCO). A day later it will start operations between London’s second largest airport and Fort Lauderdale (FLL). It currently offers a daily service to and from New York (JFK).

According to Norse Atlantic, the initial schedule includes a frequency of four flights per week to and from Orlando in May and June. During the peak summer season it will operate daily. It will also initially offer three weekly flights to and from Fort Lauderdale and will move to daily service from July. All flights will be operated with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with a total of 338 seats.

Focus on North Atlantic routes

Norse Atlantic has sought to capitalise on the sustained recovery in demand and air traffic levels on North Atlantic routes, one of the world’s most profitable markets, since launching commercial operations in June 2022.

«We are very pleased to announce two new routes from London Gatwick to the popular holiday destination of Florida», said Bjorn Tore Larsen, CEO of Norse Atlantic. «In addition to our current daily New York flights we will also be releasing for sale further destinations between London and the United States by the end of February», he added.

He also welcomed the expansion of the transatlantic network and noted that by next summer the company will be the operator with the largest choice of North American destinations from London-Gatwick.

The company received the necessary authorisation to commence commercial passenger and cargo operations in the United States last November. By the end of June it had applied to operate to Orlando (MCO), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Los Angeles-Ontario (ONT), San Francisco (SFO), Chicago-Rockford (RFD) and Washington-Baltimore (BWI).
