United Airlines is strengthening its offering in Italy by increasing its operations between New York/Newark (EWR) and Naples (NAP) by adding a second daily flight for the 2023 summer season, as reported by Italian media Travel Quotidiano.
The new connection will be scheduled between June 23 to September 7 and will be operated on Boeing 767-300ER High J aircraft with 167-seat capacity (46 Polaris/22 Premium Plus/43 Economy Plus/56 Economy). The company plans to expand the premium offering on this route.
The second daily flight will be available during the peak summer season, as the carrier begins seasonal service to Naples (NAP) beginning May 6. United will offer 5,334 seats per week between Newark (EWR) and southern Italy, representing a 78% increase in capacity compared to last year’s schedule.
Walter Cianciusi, country sales manager for United Airlines in Italy, comments that the new service «responds first and foremost to the very high demand we are experiencing from the United States. In fact, a single flight is not able to handle the impact of the requests. Then, of course, it will also ensure greater choice and options for Italian passengers heading to the United States.»
New flight schedule
- New York/Newark (EWR) 22:15 – Naples (NAP) 13:00+1
- Naples (NAP) 15:00 – New York/Newark (EWR) 19:05
United will be the only airline to offer transatlantic flights at Naples-Capodichino Airport (NAP) during the northern summer season.
