Lufthansa introduced the Airbus A380 schedule for the 2023/2024 northern winter season, confirming that the Superjumbo will fly on routes to the west coast of the United States and Southeast Asia. The company recently reactivated a third A380 to reinforce its intercontinental operations from its premium hub in Munich (MUC).

By the end of October this year, the airline will fly the A380 from the Bavarian capital to Bangkok (BKK) and Los Angeles (LAX), replacing the summer operation of the Airbus A350-900, and both routes will also have the First Class product on sale. The superjumbo’s summer season services to Boston (BOS) and New York (JFK) will be operated during the winter on Airbus A340-600s.

The last A380 operation on this service was during the 2019 summer season. Lufthansa will continue to operate to LAX from Frankfurt (FRA) with daily flights on Boeing 747-8i.

The airline’s last service between Germany and Thailand operated on the superjumbo was in March 2020 on flight between Frankfurt (FRA) and Bangkok (BKK). This operation will be a new route for Lufthansa’s Airbus A380 from the Bavarian capital.
