ASL Airlines to begin operations in El Salvador soon

In a press release, the Salvadoran Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed “the airline’s interest in establishing itself in the country” and stressed that this is a product of “the potential, opportunities and leadership” in aeronautical matters.

“It is from these local capabilities and possibilities that the company aims to establish itself and provide transport services, both passenger and cargo, that bring the two regions closer together”, the statement said.

Currently, ASL Airlines Belgium has its main base of operations at Liège Airport (LGG), from where it operates cargo and passenger charter flights. It is part of ASL Aviation Holdings, a group specialising in aeronautical services.

The start of operations would boost trade relations between Belgium and El Salvador, as well as increase the offer for both leisure travellers and Salvadorians living in Europe.

“El Salvador is the right place”, says ASL Airlines

“I would like to thank ASL Airlines for the trust and firm decision to reach this agreement that will ultimately enhance economic development, and which translates into boosting tourism, the aviation industry and trade with Belgium and related destinations”, said Vice Foreign Minister Mira.

“President Nayib Bukele has entrusted us with the mission of promoting and monitoring productive policies and strategies in the international sphere, according to the country’s priorities, with the aeronautical sector being a priority”, she added.

“We have been, for several months, evaluating the conditions of this country, because we need a point of contact with Central and South America”. Hildreth said. “After all the analysis, we made this decision and we are convinced that El Salvador is the right place”, he assured.
